What is a good pet for a child with allergies/asthma?

My daughter LOVES animals, but she has bad pet allergies. What is a good, cute, lovable pet for her? No cats, ferrets, and were not allowed dogs where we live otherwise I know there is non-allergenic dogs.

If she's looking for a good pet that will lover her like a dog without the fur, birds are the way to go. Small parrots, like conures and "pocket parrots" are great for small spaces and very colorful. Larger parrots are harder to care for, but some say they are smarter and have larger vocabularies of you're looking for talking birds.

If your interested, read up on them. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

Let me tell you about an animal that has won my heart.

They are loyal, cute and very affectionate!

They are a smaller animal, they LOVE being with people, and they are trainable.

Rats- and in the case of your daughter- hairless rats.

Rats have been kept as pets since the 1800s, when rat-catchers would breed rats to make more money. Many catchers became fond of the little guys, who within a few generations were completely domestic. They sold them as pets to the- get this- artistocratic!

These days, rats kept as pets come from the old laboratory and fancy show stock. As clean as any cat or dog.

Rats will bond to their owner very fiercly. More than mice, even guinea pigs. Rats have an affection for their owners about the same as dogs do.

Good luck in finding the perfect companion!

reptiles

:D

i love them

i have a snake (ball python) hes the sweetest snake ever
their the best for starter-snakes, rarely rarely bite, mines never bitten me and i never herd of one doing so but hey, maybe one has.

or maybe a fish? but their not to exciting
or birds? i dont know if that causes a alergic reation or not

Reptiles are good like lizards or iguanas. or even something like a guinea pig or chinchilla maybe.

But for asthma and allergies a reptile of some sort would do great. No dander and no hair. and easy to care for.

Me too I am allergic and love them. I have 2 guinea pigs who live outside. I cuddle them outside and play with them on the table outside so I don't sneeze but they are so small they hardly drop fur. Cats are a BIG no-no for me.

Snakes, lizards, goldfish, hamsters.
