WHAT IS "FOCAL CORONARY ATHEROSCLEROSIS" AND WHAT ARE IT'S CAUSES?

Focal coronary atherosclerosis is a plaque. All the modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors come into play.

Non-modifiable: Gender, age, heredity
Modifiable: High blood pressure, Diabetes Mellitus, Dyslipidemia, Smoking etc.

Is cholesterol inside the walls of the coronaries arteries: those that give the blood flood to the heart. Causes: too much cholesterol in your blood stream. Smoking, diets rich in fats, lack of physical activtiy, overweight are between the principal risk factors.

A highly localized area of plaque within a coronary artery.

Some contributing factors:
1) smoking
2) diabetes
3) heredity
4) diet
5) cholesterol
