Bacterial Vaginosis, Flaglye...scared of premature labor...? |
I'm alittle over 15 weeks pregnant and I have had BV (bacterial Vaginosis) a couple times during this pregnancy...I'm scared I had it for awhile before I was pregnant and didn't know. Right now I am on flagyle for it and I'm pretty sure it's gone...I take it twice a day for 7 days I'll be done with it on Thursday. Anyways, I read alot of stuff saying Bacterial Vaginosis causes premature labor, and treating isn't proven if it has an effect in stoping the premature labor...Well I was wondering for all you ladies who have Had this while pregnant, how are your babys? How was your pregnancy? My midwife told me that i'm only high risk for premature labour when i have BV, i'm prone to all those kinds of infections so i've experienced them all. i went into premature labor at 33 weeks but they stopped it. then, found out i had BV. i took the same medication and it went away. and i haven't had a contraction since. as long as you finish every pill you should be fine. Here's the deal. . . while there might not be concrete evidence that treating it will stop labor, if you don't treat your BV you would be putting your baby at a much greater risk. I had it when I was pregnant with my daughter and she was born at 40 weeks so try not to worry. |
