I would like to be a Police Officer, but I have bipolar disorder. Would they still accept me? |
I have been taking only natural therapy for the past 8 years, and haven't been hospitalized, or seen a doctor since. Prior to that, I was living in a homeless shelter and on psychiatric meds which were not working. I associated with street people with criminal records, because those were the only people that would associate with me at the time. I never got involved in criminal activity, nor have I used illegal drugs, or abused alcohol. Since taking vitamins and minerals in large dosages, I have figured out that bipolar is really caused by a nutrient deficiency caused by leaky gut syndrome. I take many vitamins and minerals to manage the symptoms. The only things that affect me include a lack of sleep, and drinking coffee. As soon as I managed the symptoms, I went back to university and obtained a teaching degree and teach iat a private high school. I never have an debilitating symptoms. I have taken a course in criminal law at a college and scored the highest in the class. I have also taken an aptitude test which showed that I have the highest aptitude for law enforcement out of 6,000 occupations. This includes personality, workstyle, and ability. I think that my experiences living as a homeless person, and having to deal with criminal types, as well as my exposure to the world of mental health, could make me a good candidate; however, it could work against me if I apply. I enjoy teaching, but being a cop would better suit my personality. However, I do have the bad habit of speeding, and I have too many speeding tickets. I love driving for hours and like most people, I don't always obey the speeding limit. Would my history and record of speeding tickets disqualify me from becoming a Police Officer? Two answers. Just pick a small department they won't even know what it is and most of them are retarded so if you go off once in a while you will fit right in.!! You will fit right in, after all your not quite right in the head. Lie about the bipolar disorder, it is a skill with which you will become very adept. Someone who is bipolar should never be a cop. The answer is not no, but NO! |
