I took my birth control pill 2 hours late....will I get pregnant? |
I have been taking ortho tri cyclin lo for over a year, and I usually get my period 2 or three days into the last week of pills, but this month I took one of my pills 2 hours later than usual ( i take it everyday at 3pm, and I forgot it until 5pm) but I didn't think it was a big deal, and now it's four days into the last week of pills, and still no period! Did I really mess this up, would 2 hours late really increase my pregnancy chances? My boyfriend and I have sex a couple times a week, so I am really worried. Yes, You can get pregnant if you do not take your pill on the right schedule, 2 hours .. I mean maybe the risk isn't that high but I know for a fact it can happen. It happened to one of my female friends, she forgot to take it one night took it first thing in the morning and was pregnant shortly after so I would get yourself checked out if you don't get your period soon, or take Plan B maybe if its not to late (72 hours) I don't think so. I am also on those pills and I don't take them at the exact same time hardly ever, but if you miss a pill or waited a while to take it it might take a while for it to take affect back in your system. Just give it time....If you still don't get your period go down to a Health Clinic and talk to them ( or just call them and talk to a nurse if you don't want to go down there) they always answer my questions. Taking it late can affect your cycle a little. your best bet is to call a pharmacist, but you should be fine. i've skipped a day on accident before. call for your own piece of mind. I wouldn't think 2 hours would make a difference. Just to be safe I'd take a pregnancy test. I doubt you are its probably just stress or something that effected it. LMAO no...i take mine 2 days late sometimes and in my booklet that you still wouldn't get pregnant. Only if you skip 3 pills. as long as you use a condom you have no no u will nt get pregnent I've been on ortho tri cyclen lo for a few months now. I've been super paranoid about taking my pills late or missing them. I asked the nurse at the doctor's office where I get my pills and she said it shouldn't be a big deal if you're a little late. Just try to NEVER forget to take them all together. If you do, take it as soon as you remember. Her advice to me was, for example, if I want to sleep in late on a Saturday when I normally take my pill at "x" time, I can take it within an hour or so before I should get worried. I've many times turned off my alarm when pill time comes, and think omg I'm 2 hours late. Nothing ever did come of me missing one within a set amount of time. The stress is probably delaying your period. If you're really, really, really concerned, call your doctor or buy a cheap-o pregnancy test to ease your mind. |
