How do I find my Blood type, being I am not a candidate for blood donation?

How do I get it done for free or really cheap? My insurance would charge me an arm and a leg because there really is no medical reason to have the test done except for natural dietary reasons.

If you can't get tested and can't afford anything, maybe a home kit like the one below could be useful:

It only costs about 10 dollars and you can do it at home, but you'd have to prick your own blood to get three large drops of your own blood.

Well, unless you donate blood, you will not get it done for "free or cheap." Your doctor can order an ABO Rh, but you are correct, you will have to pay if it is not "medically necessary" testing. Only other idea I have is to check any larger research hospitals or colleges in your area to see if there are any research projects going on where if you participate you could find out your type.

Why aren't you a candidate for blood donation - go give blood and they will tell you your blood type.
Your doctor should be able to prescribe a blood test for a few dollars - if nothing else, by testing for lead exposure. You should know your type if you have an accident.
Of course, "natural dietary reasons" your blood type should have no effect on what you can or should eat.

you can ask your doctor to order a cross and match blood test.
it's the test they use to find out your blood type when they need to give you a blood transfusion.

ask your doctor for a blood test

say you are worried about diabetes or you want an STI check or something
