MRSA & Blood Donation?

I had colonized skin MRSA. Took anti-biotic and had the area surgically removed. Can I donate blood and plasma?

You can donate blood. MRSA skin colonization does not imply blood colonization. You should tell the blood collectors and they will want to swab the area well, and wear gloves for any contact with you - they will not want to contract MRSA as they will then be dealing with many other members of the public. As long as you are healthy, and have waited at least 6 months after a significant illness, you can donate.

im not entirely sure, but my guess would be no. well it might depend on how long ago you had it. because i had an eye enfection from wearing a contact too long and they told me i couldnt.

yes
