Is there anyway of getting HIV other than Sexual contact, drug use or blood transfusion?

I ask because I thought I got needle stabbed in a club 2 years ago, though I went for a test 3 moths (96 days afterwards) and it came up netive. Although I heard sometimes it can take 6 years for HIV to work.
Could I possibly be infected?

Theoretically you could get it through any portal of entry.

So in addition to any natural openings on the body, the eyes, cuticles, cuts, or punctures could be a route to get it. Theoretically you could get it from a tooth brush.

HOWEVER...the virus is very fragile. It has possibly become even more so in the years it has proliferated.

In addition to surviving and then entering your body, it needs to serovert. In other words, it needs to beat the bodies natural defenses.

If you go to Pub Med you can type in the search terms and find actual studies about what your asking. The statistics from needle sticks are very low at present.

There are some studies that I recently read that indicate that by boosting you glutathione you have a better chance of surviving with aids. This is interesting. If aids can be affected by increased glutathoine levels, then this could be a good defense to help the body fight it in the event of infection.

There are two companies that produce a product that does this in the US and one in Germany and soon one in Japan will.

You cannot take glutathione. The body breaks it down. However, you can take the building blocks of glutathione. Cysteine is the main one you will need.

Hope this helps.

the test used today test for antibodies that your body makes to fight off a disease, it works this way for everything, cold or flu, it does not take your body 6yrs to fight a cold does it? No, your body will start producing antibodies within a few weeks(and a little longer for people who have a weaker immune system) so a test a 96 days post possiable exposure would be a good clue that your not infected. the sympotoms could take years to show because the anitbodies are working to fight what they can off, but the antibodies that they test for, are already there. congrats on your neg!

If the needle was used by a person with HIV, there is a remote possibility of transferring it this way, but not likely...it can also be transmitted by blood of an infected person getting into, onto a cut or into the eye of a non affected person...these are not common ways, and the ways you have mentioned are indeed the most common.

having vaginal or anal intercourse without a condom with someone who has HIV/AIDS
sharing needles or syringes with someone who has HIV/AIDS
being deeply punctured with a needle or surgical instrument contaminated with HIV
getting HIV-infected blood, semen, or vaginal secretions into open wounds or sores

Transmission this way is possible but unlikely. Antibodies to HIV usually show up in tests within 3 months of exposure, but in extremely rare cases, it can take 6 months for the antibodies to show up in tests.

You can get it from breast milk. You could get it from infected blood entering your body, say by aiding an accident victim, from tattoos, unsterilized needles or other medical tools, rarely razors used by an HIV+ person

6 years or maybe 10 or 20 for the hiv to work but this doesn't mean that it can be seen in a test. If you got it you had tested postive.
