Is it possible to get syphillis from a blood transfusion? Not the way they screen donated blood today. Over the last few years, they have tightened up even more. Syphilis is sexually transmitted anyhow. You can give it to your partner through genitalia contact, lips, and an infected mother can pass it to her child if she has a vaginal birth.. Potentially, but not in America or any other developed nation. Blood banks carefully check all blood for many, many diseases and other potential problems before giving it to someone. I'm pretty sure you can't...it's called a Sexually Transmitted Disease for a reason... |
