Jehovah's Witnesses: A question regarding certain blood fractions now allowed for transfusions?

There are new rules regarding certain blood fractions now allowed to be used by JW followers. My question may be a bit disgusting, but I need to know...

Since abstaining from whole blood as transfusions is the same as abstaining from swallowing and digesting the same whole blood in your beliefs, if certain blood fractions like plasma, etc... is allowed to go through your bloodstream, does this mean you can also now swallow and digest these same allowable blood fractions?

Just for the record, I do find this thought as disgusting because I never would eat whole blood nor blood fractions! I feel blood transfusions is not the same as eating, because it is a necessary life-saver!

If JWs do believe ingesting through the mouth is the same as ingesting through the veins, what are the thoughts of allowing blood fractions through your veins, as equivalent to allowing it into your stomachs???

This question may be a little sensitive, so I'll ask all answerers to not bash each other and to keep this question clean, or at least as clean as this question can get to be! Thanks!

Click Here...Thanks for your thoughts! I never did ask a question regarding the JW version of "abstain from blood" rule from the Bible. Keep well!

Some blood fractions are naturally found in meat, eggs, milk, vegetables, chocolate........ I guess you don't eat any of those, huh?

Take for example plasma- it contains inorganic salts, enzymes, and nutrients, including minerals and sugar. It also carries such proteins as albumin. These are found in many food sources.

Vot just realised you do not know what blood FRACTIONS are. Do you need me to explain or will you go read up on it yourself?

"And since you now make blood fractions and food fractions comparable, does this also mean both fractions are now allowed to be ingested into your stomachs???"

"...And I wasn't talking about other types of blood fractions at all! I'm talking about human and/or blood fractions, so PLEASE stick with my question!!!"

My friend, stop embarrassing yourself. You even posted a link that tells you what Vot just told you, that some blood fractions are naturally found in food.

Jehovah's Witnesses accept treatment involving blood fractions, so your root argument is actually baseless.

Call it a "blood fraction" or a "food fraction", the basic chemical composition of albumin will not be any different in both cases.

Vot repeats, while you will not find me with a dish of albumin (gooey mess that would be), you'll find me wolfing down albumin in eggs and meat. The same goes for all the other fractions that are found in other foods. Blood is built up from the stuff we eat, plus some hormones and other chemical compounds that the body manufactures.

Ok, I just came in from an exam, I had enough Science for one day, and nuff said. No one is paying Vot for this!

You need to study and learn what blood "fractions" are.

For the last time- blood fractions ARE ALLOWED in treatment!!!!

Eesh. Report Abuse

You already asked a such question, and you do not even bother reasoning with anyone. You just want to start a argument and you displayed this behavior before.

Any time you eat meat your gonna get trace amounts of blood. The point is that we show respect for the life it represents!

The following answer is reprinted from the issue of June聽15, 2000.

Jehovah鈥檚 Witnesses refuse transfusions of both whole blood and its primary blood components. The Bible directs Christians to 鈥榓bstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from fornication.鈥?(Acts 15:29) Beyond that, when it comes to fractions of any of the primary components, each Christian, after careful and prayerful meditation, must conscientiously decide for himself.

Hope this helps!

Since my answer is much like Vot's;
I'll just say DITTO, to Vot's answer.
