Secondary breast cancer help?

a girl i grew up with has just been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer..lymph..lung & bone..
she is only 35
i just wondered how long would she have?

My lifelong friend died in January this year from brain tumours secondary to very aggressive breast cancer. She was 37 and was first diagnosed with breast cancer 14 months before it claimed her life.
The trouble with breast cancer in younger women (under 50) is that it is more aggressive the younger you are. Since your friend has cancer now in a number of body systems, it's unlikely she'll live long term, however women have survived for years with bone and lung cancer. It depends completely on the individual and it would be unfair on you and your friend to take wild guesses. I know it's hard not knowing - all you want to do is have some certainty - cancer makes everyone powerless. I was in exactly your situation so I know something of what you're going through. I think I read every cancer website and book I could get my hands on just to find out how long my friend would live. Unfortunately, my worst fears were realised, and she only survived 2 months after the brain tumours were found.
Everyone is different, and cancer is different. Your friend may have 6 months, or 3 years - it's very hard to say. You'll know as the time goes by whether she seems to be getting sicker or not. Just make every hour count now. Say the things you want to say to her - thank her for all the things she's impacted in your life, and talk to her about how she feels. I think those things are most important.

Secondary is not good and often there isnt much that can be done.My wife had breast cancer and then on a later x ray the specialist told her that she had lung cancer.I rang cancer back up and they told me that if it was secondary then it was not a hopeful outcome.Luckily the specialist was very wrong and a further scan showed that it was scar tissue on the lung from radiotherapy.She lived.It depends how strong your friend is.Look how long Jane Tomlinson went on for

It is very sad to know . She should approach to Patanjali(Haridwar ) India If she is in India. IF she is in abroad she should do "Kapal Bhanti" Prayanam 30 minutes each in two sessions daily with empty stomach. Many cancer patients cure from this prayanam. Even Doctors from Leading cancer hospitals are advising this praynayam to cancer patients.

Sorry to hear that...unfortunately the prognosis is likely not that great since the cancer is spreading through her body and not just in one area. It truly depends on how fast the cancer progresses and how she responds to treatment on how long she has.

My mother, who was 41 when she died, had Inflammitory breast cancer for 7 1/2 years. It was stage four, which is the worst, so your friend should probually have more time then that. Tell her to see a doctor.

since it has already spread, it does not look good. The length of time is never certain. Some last years with treatment. A positive attitutde is said to help, rather than giving in to it.

Depends on how long she has had it, whether the tumors are malignant, whether they can be operated on, etc. No one can answer this except her doctor.

Oh wow im really sorry to hear that. It really depends on her body, some people have a few months while others can sometimes get it removed and be just fine. To be honest I am not so sure about it.
