TOO LADIES ONLYYY that have gotten a breast reduction surgery?

im thinking about getting a breast reduction but not sure if its the BEST idea. ive heard that after the surgery you dont really feel the nipple and areola area. and that there are scars. i also heard that if they cut your nipple and areola area out to replace it sometimes they dont put it correctl, and it looks crooked.. (im trying to aviod this one). i mainly just want to know if its going to be worth it or not.

im really athletic, my size is almost a DD , i wanna go down to a B. i think thats where i will be comfortable. im not overweight, my waist is like a size 5 ish. alot of back problems especially when working out and sleeping.

i am open to ANY advise. and if you have gotten a breast reduction please let me know who your DOCTOR was and what to expect and how to know who the best one is out there.

THANKSSS!

I had it done 6 years ago and I still believe it was the right decision.
I was huge and out of proportion.
I have scars but I expected that...they have faded very well but are still there.
I also got a nasty infection after the op and ended up back in hospital for a week.
It scarred badly but when it healed I went back and had it corrected and it looks great.
I also have feeling in both nipples..no different from before the op.

You do have to accept the scarring, it will never go away, but if, like me, scars are a small price to pay for comfort...go for it!!!

Just to add...they look great, much better than before...even with the scars!!

i had a breast reduction about 6 months ago. they cut around the nipple to reposition but did not remove it. i am not crooked at all. post surgery, for about 2 weeks, my nipples were hyper sentitive, but everything returned to normal. my scars have healed nicely and are barely visible. in another 6 months you won't even know they are there. for me, it was the best decision i ever made and i am very happy with the results.

Personally, I don't think you should. I wish I could, because I'm 14 and pretty big... I get wicked self-consiousce. But, I wouldn't do that. Pain, discomfort, risk... Not worth it.

I will be getting a breast reduction sometime in the next year or so (once I'm done breastfeeding my son) to go from a J to a C (if the surgeon believes a C is a realistic possibility.) I, like you, am fairly tiny. 120 lbs, 5'2. So I totally feel you on the back problems and whatnot.

Something a lot of women looking into breast reduction surgery don't know is the difference between whats called a Free Nipple Graft and a Pedicle method. The Pedicle method is MUCH less invasive and will NOT remove your nipple/areola complex. This method will make future sensitivy as well as capability to breastfeed much more likely. Definitely try and get this method if your surgeon believes it is possible for you.

They have forums full of women who have gone through this surgery and they can help prepare you for whats to come, what doctors are the best, what you should do after the surgery, etc.

Good luck, if you end up getting the surgery! It's a huge decision, but from what I hear, WELL worth it.
