I think there's worms in my stool and I'm breastfeeding? |
So I'm freaking out. We have 1 cat, 2 cats. Last year in October, my abdomen swelled tremendously and only went away when I went to the bathroom. Yes there's mucus, blood, and excruciating abdominal pain and I almost always have diarrhea! I'm not a doctor or a pharmacist (degree in Biomedical Science and 8 years as an assistant in pharmacy) and you can safely breastfeed and have worms. I don't know if you can transfer it to the baby by breastfeeding, but I am sure you can if you are not meticulous in your personal hygiene. I would call your doctor, I might even call an urgent care center. Some parasites can kill you... and certainly could harm the baby You can't transfer worms through breast feeding but you can transfer then through unclean hands. GO TO A DOCTOR ASAP. You both need to get checked out. Early infections in the life can strongly influence later heath and development. You need to get your cats cleaned up too. If you can't keep your pets disease free and you have a babythen I reccommend finding a new home for your pets. Your child is more important than your pets. |
