Anyone find their hayfever suddenly disappeared after giving up breastfeeding? |
I had hayfever for the last 5 years, but suddenly the last 10 days it's gone. I've had it badly this year already, for most of March and the start of April, I live in London where there's micro-climate, it's much warmer than the rest of the country and the flowers started coming out even in February. My life-long excema disappeared during my first pregnancy and never returned. I've never heard a rational explanation for why this would be. People always use the generic "pregnancy hormones" as a reason for everything, but which hormones? How does it affect that change? I actually had the opposite problem. While I was pregnant, my allergies were worse, but while I was breast-feeding they weren't so bad, but I had to give it up when she was 6 months old, and I've been sick ever since! I don't know if there's been a shift in the amount of pollen or if it really is somehow related to the breastfeeding, but I'd be interested to find out. I'm allergic to tree pollen. This time of year is miserable for me. When I was pregnant and breastfeeding all of my allergies and some other conditions (like irritable bowel syndrome) just went away. Once my daughter was weaned everything came back and hit me hard within a month. I guess mother nature wants me to nurse forever. When I stopped breastfeeding last year I lost lots of weight but it didnt affect my allergies ....I did get funny looks though the sight of a thirty four year old hanging off his mommy kinda makes people sick |
