Need some encouragements on breastfeeding..?

Hi,

I'm mix (breast & formula) bottle feeding my 3 1/2 months old baby boy as he wouldn't latch on me as he prefers the bottle.

I have been expressing my milk 4 times a day since i started working 2 months ago and manage to only get about 8oz all together. I'm feeling very disappointed with myself as the supply couldn't increase and have to supplement with formula.

I've tried fenugreek seeds and alfafa but it's not working. Is 8oz a day enough? Please advice, thank u in advance.

Not all mother's produce milk. It varies greatly. The bottle is easier for the baby. With breast feeding he has to "work" for it.

The important thing is you tried. Many give up quickly or don't try at all.

I breastfed 2 of my 3 children and rather resembled a Jersey/ Holstein milk cow. My daughter tried but didn't produce enough. As long as the child is healthy and thriving there's nothing to worry about. You can't help that nature doesn't always follow your desires.

You will know if it is enough if your baby is full at the end of each feed otherwise you will need to keep supplementing it with formula. Don't worry it's not just you, i know a few people who also did not produce enough milk themselves to feed their babies with breast milk alone.

Don't be so hard on yourself. ANY breastmilk is better than none at all! Nothing wrong with supplementing with formula. I am sure your baby is happy and healthy. =)
