Can you become pregnant if you are exclusively breastfeeding? |
I have been breastfeeding since my son was born...he is 4 months old now. We only breastfeed. I haven't had my period which I know is normal, but have been feeling kind of more fatigued than usual and nauseous here and there. yes you can get pregnant again while still nursing. I got pregnant while still nursing my daughter. Of course you can. Breastfeeding isn't a 100% guaranteed birth control. Hey Breastfeeding mummies, maybe you should take a pregnancy test. its also normal to get your period back right away.- i did with both my kids. your cycle may have started and you got pregnant so no period. and if you aren't pregnant start using birthcontrol. because it happens often enough. sorry but whoever told you breastfeeding was birth control was mistaken. You most definitely can! My Dr told us that basically once your body figures out to have a baby it wants to do it all the time! They told us to get on birth control at the 6 week postpartum appointment and then wait till it has fully kicked in to even have sex again (without protection) unless we wanted another one really quick! of course you can. A hormone that is realeased while you are nursing helps to stop ovulation but its not a guarentee. If you have not had a period yet though then i wouldnt worry to much. Ask my sister. The one who was conceived when I was four months old, and my mom was exclusively breastfeeding me. yes you can get pregnant while breastfeeding. breastfeeding is not birth control. 1.5% of the time in the first 6 months, it is good contraception but not perfect yes you can get pregant. Yes. Use condoms. Ever hear of Irish twins? It happens. |
