Is it common for 3 month old not breastfeeding as often as when younger?

He will feed, just some times he will drink less than he used to.

A few days ago he went a really long time before he had a good feed.

Is it just that age?

He doesn't cry, he is settled after feeds.

Plus he has a lot of wet nappies more than 6 a day.

Could be that at this point he's not going through any growth spurts so he's not needing quite as much. Also, could be that he's getting just as much as he used to just getting it at a much faster rate, babies learn quickly and he's probably a pro at eating at Mommies snack bar now. Could be that your supply is fully established now as well, so the milk flows faster. As long as he has plenty of wet nappies and is still passing bowel movements on a regular basis I wouldn't worry. Sounds like you are doing just fine hon! :)

As your baby gets older they can nurse a little faster. So hes probably still drinking the same amount he's just drinking faster. My son used to nurse for about 45 minutes on each breast every 2-3 hours, Now at almost 7 1/2 months he nurses about 5-10 minutes on each and he is good for about 4 hours. As long as he isnt showing signs of hunger hes getting enough.

this must be norml as mine does the same.....

my first was a constant eater but my second gets maybe 3 good feeds a day and several mini-feeds through out the day/night

as long as plenty wet diapers, poops according to his schedule [daily, weekly etc] and gaining weight

mine gained almost a pound in a weeks time so i know he's getting plenty

ya he could be growing if your worried go to your doc good luck

He sounds like he is just content if he is having wet nappies and not yellow ,Maybe give a little bit of water too but sounds like hes doing very well

Yeah.. Your milk supply is more established and your let down is probably better now too.. They get faster at eating and he might not be on just for comfort as much now
