Can a baby sufficate in the womb? from Cervical Cancer? |
I know someone who claimed to be pregnant and had a miscarriage. She said the miscarriage was caused by her cervical cancer. Thats the term she used "suffocate" but maybe smothered or something along those lines? Cancer may have caused a miscarriage but I am not 100% sure. I don't think the baby could suffocate. Sometimes miscarriages happen as a result of abnormalties in the fetus. "Suffocation" could be her way of saying the baby became oxygen deprived, which can definitely happen in pregnancy. Oxygen is obtained by the baby through the blood, through the placenta and umbilical cord. Several kinds of complications could cause a condition which lead to impaired circulation to the baby, meaning oxygen depravation and eventually death. It's possible that something with the cervical cancer might be involved, but not exactly sure how or what. No the baby wouldn't suffocate in the womb. They are in-closed in the amniotic sac... |
