Do they check for chlamydia on a urine test before surgery? |
I am going to undergo a surgery and they did a general test as well as a urine test. I had a little bacteria for which I was prescribed augmentin 1 gram for 5 days twice daily. I was wondering if the general urine test or bac test would reveal the chlamydia or should it be intentionally tested to find out? I mean should I have asked to also test for it? Thank you very much! I'm pretty sure they have to specifically look for it. Also, if the results showed you had an std they would have to inform you and they would also strongly suggest that your partner be notified. They have to run a specific test for it. They can also check your blood for chalmydia antibodies to see if you ever had it in the past Testing for Chlamydia is NOT normal pre-op lab work. You had bacteria in your urine, so they wanted to clear that up. They actually need to test for it. Just ask them, they can run a whole panel and test you for most STD's. Yes Jesus Is the Answer. |
