Which type of doctor do I go to if I think I have chlamydia? Gynecologist or regular doctor?

I thought it was just a yeast infection, cause I've had them in the past, but after using monistat, it didn't go away. I have no insurance and was gonna go to a lab and have a whole std panel done, but then I would still have to go to a doctor for a prescription. Any suggestions?

Fo sho mcnuggets.

You can see either one. I would say the gynecologist would be the best choice, though, just because they see infections like yours every day. What if it's just a bacterial infection of some other sort, or just a hormone imbalance causing the itch? A gynecologist would be the best judge of that.

Go to the clinic closest to you. I guess it depends on which country you are in, but a general practitioner will take samples and give you a prescription for the necessary drug even before the results if he suspects Chlamydiae.

Best of luck

You can see either a family practitioner or a gyno. Either one can diagnose and give you a prescription or whatever treatment is necessary. It's really up to you. A family doc is generally much cheaper to visit.

you should go to planned parent hood. its a free visit. and if you have anything they will help you get what you need cheap and its really easy to get in and out.

Gynecologist because they can see it and then prescribe the right medication regular doctors will tell you to go to a gyno.

If your regular Dr. also does OBGYN exams, you can go to them

Gynecologist because they are vagina doctors and they should know about STDs

Either one can write up a lab slip for testing. If your going for one I say test for all.

It sounds a lot like Siphlus or the common cold, i would take a visit to the school nurse or dentist

you should go to your local free clinic and tell them you want and STD screening. tell them you've got symptoms and they should be able to help you out

Just go to a gyno. then at least u know what it is. but hopefully its nothing.

Go to the gyno.
Your best answers are there.
Oh, and keep your legs closed once in a while....you're dirty.
