At what age does the depression phase in teenagers start?

And when does it finish?

Good question. I know that answer depression phase varies among people of all ages. Statistics lately have shown that teenagers are at high risk for depression especially if it runs in your family. I know this by experience. I suffered from depression since I was 12 but didn't realize it til I was 17 years old. Ok so when does it finish? Well to tell you the truth sometimes its only temporary such as if you recently had a loss of someone close to you or moving anything stressful short-term. It's best to get some counseling and medications. Also there are all types of depression out there so finding the right one helps to move on with the next step. I asked my own mother once since depression runs in families and my mom was depressed she told me I would have to take medications for the rest of my life. She was very smart woman and well I'm still dealing with depression years later now. It varies sometimes it never finishes but it is bearable if you find a good Dr. who understands.

There isn't any such thing. Teens tend to be more moody than adults or children, and there is a high rate of depression in teens, but there is no "depression phase" that starts or ends at a particular time for every teen. Everybody is different.

the depression phase starts at just about 17 cuz my bro is going thru itand take a pill go to the doc for it tho

It started hitting me hard when I turned 15 and its been there everyday since... so I can only anserw the first part

it can start at any age . it doesn't go away with out treatment .

16

about 15 i would say and ends about 18 some people never suffer it luckily
