How do I know where my depression ends and my laziness begins?

Or vice versa?

When the depression hits, it's all I can do to get out of bed, I just don't want to do anything.

So I am constantly called lazy, how do I know which is true? I have been diagnosed with mild depression, but how do I know that I'm just not a REALLY lazy person?

I am always being called lazy and I hate it.

I know exactly what you mean. I have depression and laziness. I think that being lazy suggests a lack of interest and comes from depression. I also think depression itself... oh dear, I stayed in bed all day yesterday. It's hard.

I think if you're avoiding something major then it's depression. Like an exam coming up and you're not doing any work. Or if you're not showing up to classes, work, or school.

I think avoiding the dishes is more trivial and nobody likes doing it.

For one thing not doing work for a test at school is most definitely lazy because you are avoiding the work which is a really good sign of LAZY.If you just feel like you don't have the energy or you feel like really blah all the time these are the signs of depression. My daughter was like you described yourself so everyone was calling her lazy and goodfornothing but I took her to the doc and he said she was suffering from depression because she just felt like she couldn't do nothing not that she wouldn't(lazy).Go to the doc and tell him your symptoms and maybe he can help you with some kind of meds to get you back in the swim of things. They certainly helped Krissy. After doc appointment she was so active that even I couldn't keep up with her.Good luck and God bless and remember your not lazy if you can't do it only if you won't....

i wouldnt call it lazines...
because of your depression, theres a lack of interest to do anything becuase everything just seems pointless.
its not lazy.
just a symptom. like all you wanna do is stay in bed.
ur not lazy!!
