How has diabetes changed over the years?

treatments? how it affects your lifestyle? who does it affect the most? where? When?

I've been an insulin-dependent diabetic for 16 years now. For me, today we have more accurate glucose meters. It used to be you had to look at a strip and guess more or less what your blood sugar was. Now the machines tell you exactly. It also used to take like 45 seconds to a minute. Today? 5 seconds. Also the insulin syringes are shorter which is a lot more convenient. Seems like there are always improvements going on which benefit everyone. -----------------------

Ive had type 1 diabetes for 26 years

When I first got it the machines to test your sugar levels took 2 minutes and you had to wash the blood off, they were the size of a brick and the lancets put a damm hole in your finger, ouch

Now they take 5 seconds, they are tiny and the lancets are so much better

Needles have gotten smaller and shorter and here cheap

Now we have pumps and what they call human insulin, before it was pork or beef insulin

They have come along way since I got it and hopefully one day they will have a cure

Oh and costing wise strips, needles etc use to cost a fortune until t hey brought in the NDSS system

I have discovered this accidentally. It is a all natural product that helps almost for any kind of health problem. REcently I have learned that is a great help for diabetic people.
