Diabetes is slow metabolism and high sugar, what is the opposite called?

A friend claims to be suffering from the opposite of diabetes. Is there such a thing as too fast a metabolism that causes blood sugar to drop too low? How is it treated? Is it still called diabetes?

ur friends an idiot

"slow metabolism" would be hypothyroid, not hyperglycemia (high sugar aka diabetes).

"fast metabolism" is hyperthyroid. Low sugar is hypoglycemia.

there is a correlation of poor thyroid function with many other health problems, including diabetes (despite what TSH testing shows), so what your friend says isn't impossible.

however, many people claim to have metabolism problems when they don't due to a lack of understanding of how the metabolism process actually works.

Diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin production or of tissue response to insulin. So the "opposite" would be excess insulin, which would result in chronic hypoglycemia as mentioned above. It would also have a tendency to make you fat and perhaps more muscular. One cause could be cancer (insulinoma) in the pancreas. I don't believe the same things that cause diabetes could also be responsible for this.

hypoglicimia is the opposite of diabetes and it turns into diabetes if not corrected and monitored by a doctor i am not sure how it is treated other then to eat regular balanced meals sometimes it is caused by a misfire in the liver it often happens to obease people or people with other conditions or on other medications

Excess of insulin is produced in the body thus decreasing the sugar level known as HYPOGLYCEMIA.
