I have severe dry eye! I put about 20 gel drops in my eye a day, but it offers only very temporary relief.?

I have seen vitamins for dry eye. Has anyone tried this and if so, any recommendations? Thanks so much!

flax seed supplements provide relief to some people, have you tried warm compresses in morning and evening, also are you using an artificial tear or a visine type drop, Soothe eye drops are good for dry eye and can be purchased over the counter, they make your vision blurry when you first use them but they last a few hours, I hope you are using a preservative free drop if you are using them that often, they can irritate eyes with that much useage.
Have you talked to your Ophthalmolgist about Restasis or punctal plugs to help retain your tears, that may be a better option for you.

Fish oil supplements are supposed to help dry eye. If the tears are not helping you, then ask your ophthalmologist to try plugs to block your tears ducts and keep your natural tears around longer. There are different types of plugs, permanent, temporary, dissolvable, etc. Also ask about Restasis. It is a prescription strenght artifical tear that you need to use about 3 months before you notice any affects.
