Red ring around iris of eye, night blurness while driving, very dry eyes?

I went to an eye doctor and she told me not to wear contacts for two weeks, which I did. Its been two weeks and she told me it was okay to wear my contacts again, but my problems came back. Before my eyes had really red veins, dryness, formed a ring around the iris, and every time I took my contacts out it stringed. Now, I'm getting those symptoms back but when I drive at night all the lights were 2x bigger and brighter, like it had rings formed around it. I feel like my eye is scratched. Could the contacts be too big? I been wearing contacts for 7 years, last year the doctor changed the size of my contacts.

It sounds like your contacts do not allow enough nutrients, oxygen, removal of waste, etc., when you blink. Toxins build up and cause inflammation and swelling. The swelling of the epithelial cells will cause you to have glare, and the irritation will cause you to not 'like' light. The corneal edema spreads the light so things or lights may appear bigger.

The red ring around the iris is called "ciliary injection". this is where the vessels at the limbus (where the cornea meets the sclera) are injected and cause this sort of pink halo around the limbal region. Usually this also means that the iris is inflamed (iritis). The treatment would be first get rid of the 'wrong' contacts and find someone, perhaps an Ophthalmologist or an experienced Optometrist who will LISTEN! and LOOK!.

You should probably stop the contacts for now. Get on some anti inlfammatory medications till this resloves, then get a new 'type' of contact or one that fits correctly. I'd think changing brands if a new prescription doesn't seem to help might be something to consider.

your mentally ill or your a Schitzofranic. Haha no just kidding. Try going back to the eye doctor, I dont know, I'm just a student as a school, not a Optometric physician. So stop asking me.
