Can you help with eating disorders?

What are the implications for the individual of having an eating disorder

This is for coursework, just wanted people's opinions on it!

health implications:
-heart problems (when the body has used up fat supplies, it uses muscle, including heart muscle, for energy, resulting in an increased risk of heart failure and heart arrhythmias)
-bradycardia (a slow heartbeat which is the result of the body trying to conserve energy and keep only the centrally-located vital organs warm)
-bad circulation
-low blood pressure
-dehydration
-electrolyte imbalances (caused by dehydration)
-refeeding syndrome (caused by a sudden change in level of calories of food taken in)
-lanugo (soft hair covering the body to keep in warmth during a period of starvation)
-decrease in muscle mass, muscle atrophy
-paralysis (maybe caused by a variety of factors such as potassium levels or problems with nerves or spinal chord as a result of nutrient deficiencies)
- weak immune system
-amenorrhea and infertility (body shuts down systems, including the reproductive system, which are not important to immediate survival)
-hair loss and brittle nails (caused by vitamin and mineral deficiencies)
-anemia caused by iron deficiencies
-osteoporosis

Emotional problems:
-often linked to other mental disorders such as depression
-difficulty concentrating
-obsession with food and calories
-low self esteem
-disconnection from friends and family

i was anorexic when i was 16 and i'm still recovering now. the reason i was this way was because i weighed about 7 stone and some guy in my school called me fat and my "friend" who was there when he said it laughed and didnt stick up for me, hence i thought i was fat, even though i was, at the time, only a size 8.
i'm now almost to my target weight that the doctor set me and i'm doing ok, but when i went to clinics and talked to other people, they all had different reasons for being bulemic or anorexic. one girl i talked to was severely underweight - talking about 5 stone - and she was that way because she was fat for years and years, and she lost weight and discovered this made her feel better about herself. needless to say, things got out of hand and she became very ill.

i hope this helped for coursework :)

being skinny isn't everything. i'm skinny and it sucks. i wish people would be happy with the bodies they have and not turn to eating disorders to "look better." people tell me i'm anorexic all the time, and i'm really not. and it hurts.it's not fair.
going on a diet is safer and healthier.

i have an extreme eating disorder and i am eating chips as i type but im just saying your not alone at least but i cant help sorry.
