How does Jenny Craig work? Is if safe for people that had previous eating disorders? |
I am asking and being 100% serious so please I am begging no stupid/insulting answers. I used to work for Jenny Craig. Jenny Craig is a calorie counting program. It is similar to Weight Watchers, except you purchase your food from Jenny Craig, and in Weight Watchers, you cook your own. I joined Jenny Craig and was on it for about a year. I lost about 40 lbs with it. It is a good program, though the meals are kind of expensive, but they have recipies that you can make on your own as well, and eating out isn't forbidden or anything, lol. Most of the meals are pretty good and not much different than the frozen meals like Smart Ones, Healthy Choice, etc. While they do do calorie counting, weekly weigh-ins, and every month I think they measure your waist and bust, they are focused on losing weight healthily and the person that works with you is (usually) understanding and nice and if you're having problems then you can usually talk with them about it. They should be kind of like a friend to go to. So anyways, JC promotes healthy weight loss, but it can be very easy to fall back into getting obsessed with the calorie counting and scale. But they try to remind you that your body has its ups and downs and not losing weight one week or even gaining isn't the end of the world. So my answer is that it wouldn't be a bad idea if you gave it a try but just try to keep thinking healthily and not obsessed. |
