For the past 7 or 8 months i have been having acid reguritaion
when i say that i mean
wind is bringing food acid through my oesophagus
is happens at least 5 times a day,
im afraid somthign bad will happen
i read about oesophagus erosion and its been happening to me for a while now
i think the opening valve to my stomach is completely ope ready to let anything out. every now and again i can feel it sitting in my oesophagus. moving up to the top and just sitting below the area where you swollow.
somtimes it pushes up so fast its like im getting sick.
how log will it take before there is real damage done?
i have an appt. to see a specialist but i have been waiting a month to get it. when it came, its says another 4 months so that will be one year
of constant acid erosion, also soo bad for my teeth, what can i do
im only 17
and i have other illness
if you need more info, just ask

Sounds like either reflux or maybe an ulcer. Try to speed up your appointment with the specialist. Take some over the counter acid reducers, it might help some of the symptoms. You need to find out what's causing it. Could be stress, or maybe a blockage or something.

YES! the acid will tear up your throat and stomach so get some prevacid or something fast! you need prescription strenght! my daughter has acid reflux and her breath always smelled like vomit (but shes 4) so if thats not reason enough i dont know what is! where is your mom? tell your parents immediately!!!

You'll have to take medication probably for the rest of your life.
Stay away from foods that are acidic. Sleep with the head of your bed higher than the foot. Your doctor will give you some other tips.

Acid Reflux Disease.

Go see a doctor. He can give you medication.

Or if your worried until then start taking Over the counter antacids until them.

Oh goodness....what a variety of answers you have received!!

You are doing the absolute right thing in seeing a physician, who can assess your swallow and perform a barium swallow and observe your anatomy via xray while you are swallowing, to see if the there are lesions in the esophogus, or one of the sphincters is sluggish.

Cut and paste to Notepad what you have written here and take it to the doc with you. You did convey perfectly and this can help him on how best to proceed.

There are a variety of medications that can neutralize stomach acid as well as reverse esophogeal erosion, if that is what is occuring with you.

Think well, eat well........

do a Google search for Barrett's Esophagus which I was diagozed with last Fall. I have to take Protonix pill every day for the rest of my life so the cells that have changed already called dysplasia dont continue to change into cancer cells. Get ahold of anothe gastrointestinal MD surgeon to get an endoscopy where they make u drowsy with meds and put a camera scope down ur throat to look for anything abnormal. I am also supposed to stop smoking drinking coffee and lose weight none of which i ve started on Hope this helps cp in CT

for real medical advice, most people on here will tell you to make an appointment with your doctor.
