If some1 has shingles(a form of herpes virus) can this also show up as genital herpes later?

My long time lover has had shingles in the past and knowing that this is a form of the herpes virus(coming originally from chicken pox). If the immune system has been depleted from stress, depression and recent radiation treatment to the testicular area-is it possible to later have what appears to be pimple like substance -the same as what looks like genital herpes?? Confused and in need of help. Thanks.

NO! Absolutely not.

Shigles and chicken pox are cause by a form of herpes virus. There are 8 differnent herpes viruses that affect humans. What they have in common is that they are latent infections that can become active at any time.

It cannot turn into HSV1 or HSV2. It just doesn't work like that.

While shingles (chicken pox) and oral/genital herpes are all in the same virus FAMILY, they are not the same virus.

Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus. The only thing that you can catch from the chicken pox virus is ... chicken pox. Once you've gotten CP, you may later experience shingles, but if you caught someone elses shingles, you wouldn't get shingles, you'd get the chicken pox.

Oral and genital herpes are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV1 and HSV2). In almost everyone infected with these viruses they get lesions - either on their mouth or on their genitals, depending on where they were infected.

However, many many people with genital herpes (or oral herpes, for that matter) don't have any symptoms at all and are unaware that they have herpes. If the immune system is suppressed, and they have genital or oral herpes, they may get an outbreak - the first one they've recognized. They may have had herpes for years, but just never got an outbreak until know. Also, almost everyone (50% to 80% of adults) have oral herpes, and oral herpes can be spread to the genitals through oral sex. So even if the two of you have never been sexual with anyone but each other - its still possible that he has genital herpes.

If your lover's immune system has been supressed, and they are experiencing genital herpes symptoms, you should point them out to a physician during the next doctors visit.

Shingles is caused by Herpes zoster virus. Genital herpes is caused by Herpes simplex virus. Shingles will not spread as such but as chickenpox to those who have no immunity.

Im 14 years old and right now i have shingles.
It is left over stuff from thechicken pox.
it is form of herpes because the sores can open up.
Ive never been sexually active.
Its only common in the rib cage area.
