Can someone explain the Hepatitis C RNA quantitative test?

Hello, I tested negative for the HCV hepatitis C antibodies, but to confirm I asked for an RNA test because I heard it was accurate, could see hepatitis earlier, etc. He said he would give the quantitative RNA test.

I waited about a week and told me it was negative. Now I asked what does that mean and he said that the level was below an amount.

What does this mean? Is it possible I could have hepatitis c and be at an undetectable level?

The quantative RNA test can only test as low as <10 per ml
So if your test was below that amount, it's safe to say you are negative- you do not have hcv.

If this testing has been done because of a possible recent exposure, wait till about day 50 or more and retest- this time just using the hcv pcr- the antibody test. If thas negative, you should be a-okay!
