Anyone ever have chronic high blood pressure in pregnancy? |
I am 29 weeks and I have chronic high blood pressure. I was put on medication about two months ago and it seemed to work. Now my blood pressure is creeping up even though I am on the medication. My BP was 154/112 yesterday, but later went down to 145/87. My cousin suffered from high blood pressure while she was carrying my nephew. It was not the result of preeclampsia but I would strongly suggest that you tell your doctor about this. The other thing you can do is to of course avoid salt in all forms (table salt, processed meats, cheese spreads, even V-8 juice) and eat a banana a day. The banana contains potassium which helps to lower blood pressure generally. |
