What are solutions to male dog incontinence? |
My dog is fairly old and is showing signs of incontinence. I might be in denial, but I think he just does territorial marking. My mom said that if I can't find something to stop him from marking then he has to go. Could someone please help me? Is there anything I can do for my dog's incontinence issues? He is actually already neutered. And I have taken him to the vet. He doesn't have a UTI which is why the vet thinks he is just incontinent because nothing seems wrong. I will try the dog diapers though! I actually have a solution for male dog incontinence and territorial marking. This is a product that I developed because my daughter's Jack Russell started marking again in our house. It is called a belly wrap. Now there are many belly wraps or dog diapers out there, but mine has an adjustable strap with a buckle so the wrap won't slip off. You simply put a diaper in the belly wrap so it will catch any urine. They are made out of fleece and are machine washable. You can read more about Happy Jack Belly Wraps at my website listed below. First thing to do is to take him to the vet to see if he has a urinary tract infection or other problem. Definitely suggest getting your dog fixed. My family was having the exact same problem with our dog before he was fixed. With the excessive hormones running through them, a lot of males feel the need to mark their territory (even if there is no one else fighting for it lol). I cannot think of one time my dog has had an accident since the surgery. he could have a simple urinary tract infection or he could have true incontinence issues. there are medications available and he needs to see a vet. doggie diapers....i had a similar problem...but doggie underpants, they make them for both female and male, you can either get the disposable or reusable ones. He may be incontinent, which they have male diapers for that - but it could be something that is easily treated like a UTI. He could also be having some kidney problems.
