Can you give me any information on this(infertility)? |
I am on my 1st day of femara 2.5mg( 2 pills a day). Cycle day # 3. Just wondering if you or anyone you know have been on this and what was the outcome? How many cycles until you became pregnant? Did you have any side effects? Did you have multiples? Also, do you remember how many days after finishing them did you ovulate. Please add any other info you can think of. My hubby and I are ttc #2 for 2 years and an almost 4 year old daughter, and a miscarriage in Oct 08. I was on Femara twice through my Reproductive Endocrinologist. The first time was Sept/Oct. 08 and I had the same dosage as you. Well when I went in for a cycle day 14 scan, my follicles weren't up to where they should be yet. So basically that cycle was a bust. I felt myself ovulate about 2 weeks after (around cycle day 28) but it didn't work. My RE then moved me onto Clomid thinking I may have better results, but that was WAAAAAY off. Clomid 50mg was way too strong for me. My follicles grew nice, but my lining was soooo thin from the meds that the eggs would have never stuck. Well this past Jan 09 I started the Femara again (because I had more success with the lining with it) and my RE combined it with Gonal-F injections to give my body that extra "boost." I was very monitored so I didn't overstimulate and when it was all ready, I was given a trigger shot to ovulate. I became pregnant from that :) Femara can work for many women! Everyone is just different. I just needed an extra little boost. I really wish you all the best of luck hun!!! I was ttc with my hubby for 15 months before this regimen worked for us. I am not taking femara I am on clomid, but I thougth I would tell you that what I do when I can't get people to answer my questions, I go up to the top where it says search questions and type in what I want to know. Usually there are tons of questions and answers from people that have already asked a question similar to this. I usually get more helpful info that way, then when people do answer my questions. They will probably just ask questions and find out more about what is going on. They may do the usual annual PAP smear type stuff. But infertility tests, like ultrasounds, HSGs, and bloodwork usual... you are definitely in the wrong section but you need to speak only to your doctor. wish you luck. ...They should have those for you. Some women are just infertile, and that's it. Fortunately, we have things like fertility treatments, in vitro fertilization, and adoption, so you can be infertile and still have a child. ...
