What are the first things that happen when you get checked for infertility problems? |
My DH and I have officially hit one year of unsuccessful trying. I already have an appointment scheduled with the ob/gyn for my annual exam so at that point we'll discuss how I haven't been able to get pregnant and I'll let her decide what our next steps will be. I'm nervous about potentially being told that I cannot have children so please tell me what were the first things that happened when you seeked help getting pregnant. Thank you for all your help. My doctor took bloodwork to check my hormone levels. I have always charted my temps and cervical fluid, so she looked over those at my first appointment. Before my doctor put me through any testing, he sent my husband for a sperm analysis. After we found that his swimmers were good, he then sent me for blood work to check my hormone levels. After he found that all of my blood work was ok he then started me on clomid and sent me for an HSG to make sure my tubes were clear. My left tube is blocked. I have been seeing this fertility specialist for the past 7 months and I had my first IUI on April 3rd. I will test this weekend and I pray this time will be a positive. We have been trying now for over 2 yrs. Good Luck and Lots of Baby Dust too you... when i went to my first apt. we just went in and talked to the doctor. hes asks about you and your partners family history then makes an action plan. |
