Why do woman say that don't want sex because of menopause an have not been told that by any doctor?

Officially, menopause is when you don't have your period for at least a year. You don't need a doctor to tell you that. At the same time, the hormone levels are screwed up, and can cause a lower libido.

I've been going through peri-menopause for the past several years. My periods are long, heavy and unpredictable. There's also the messed up hormone factor, causing hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, insomnia, and general yuckiness. We feel old, tired, ugly, and undesirable. My husband couldn't handle it and left me 5 years ago. Unfortunately for me, the sex drive is still there.

In my opinion, menopause shouldn't stop a sex life. You may just need to have more patience, understanding, and lots of lube.
