Problems with my menstrual cycle ...? |
Hello, I wonder if anyone can help on this one. In a nut shell I am waiting for my period to arrive because I am meant to be having blood tests this time around for PCOS. I have been recording my cycle for some time now and the longest my cycle has been is 46 days. However I am now on day 52 of this cycle and counting. I have had unprotected sex as we would like a child, however I have also done at least 4 pregnancy tests since about day 40 and they are all negative. I do not know if I hav PCOS yet but I think it highly likely. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I occasionally get a period like symptom like spots on my face, light cramping, hot flushes and a bit of dizziness, but then it passes again. Any thoughts/experiences would be much appreciated. If I don't get my period this week I think I'll make another dr's app. Thanks x pcos is likely. when i spoke to my doctor concerning pcos she said with it, you do not get a period and most people who suffer from it get around 8 or less periods per year. so it is likely. she said one of the ways they can tell (aside from other symptoms and what you're experiencing) is by doing a sonogram which shows cysts on your ovaries that she said look like 'a string of pearls' so you could call your doctor and request a sono to check for cysts. the reason you could be having trouble conceiving with pcos is because when you have it you don't ovulate on your own. you could go to your local pharmacy and purchase an ovulation predictor kit. they can tell you if you're ovulating (also the doctor would be able to tell you on the sono if you've ovulated recently). Hello After searching for what PCOS was, I found a support group for people who have, may have or for people who know someone with it. |
