About polymenorrhea.. menstrual disorder? help.?

hey I know this sounds silly but I never EVER bothered to count my menstrual cycle. I've always tried but always forgot to write it down. For the past two months I've decided to mark it down. I always assumed that they were closer than 28 days. But when I counted they're 20 days apart. My periods last for 7 days and apparently 20 days apart. Also I have dysmenorhhea (very bad period pains) I have already gone to about 4 ultra sounds and they found nothing wrong with me. But now that I found out my period is 20 days apart should i go to the doctor again?

Mind you that my period has always been constant. But I'm just so worried. Can someone tell me about this condition? I cant seem to find any "side effects" or "bad things" for my future.. Anyone know anything about this?

Okay you say that your periods are 20- days apart and last for 7 days. A cycle begins on the first day of bleeding and continues up to, but not including, the first day of the next period. What is normal for one woman may not be normal for another woman.

If you are having painful periods, birth control pills work great in that area. Talk to your doctor about the pain.

Good luck

Mine ranges from 20 to 45 days... You said you have Dysmenorhea, Have you ever been asked to have an examination for Endometrioisis? It can only be diagnosed with a Lap "2 to 4 small 1-4cm cuts in lower abdominal area" I'm 22 and suffer stage3 endometriosis which causes Immense period pain starting 2weeks before im on, while im on and about a week after i finish. I only ask because Endometriosis can cause funny periods, pain etc.. Have a talk with your GP or GYNO about it =)

Best of luck

my cycle was always 22 days.
it is a complete pain in the rear.
it is more of an inconvenience than anything else.

if you go to the doctors and are prescribed birth control pills, your cycle will lengthen and will also help with the pain.

the only possible side effect to so much bleeding is the chance of anaemia, so keep up the iron intake.

yep, get to the doctors and he/she will sort you out.
