Why do some restaurants serve extremely enormous portions? Does this contribute to America's high obesity rate?

I think that most restaurants now are really cutting back because of the economy. As for the enormous portions, you don't have to eat it all there , get a doggie bag and have a meal for the next evening.

Funny how some complain a portion is too large, and the same portion to others is too small.

People want cheap meals and large filling portions. Especially with the economy in the state its in. If theres too much, ask for it to be wrapped and save it for the next day.

I asked my last owner to cut portions (they are HUGE) and he said nope, he would rather raise the prices.
