I need a topic to help reduce obesity in America?

I'm doing an essay on it... I need ideas to reduce obesity in America, for example one would be teaching nutrition in high school, and would reduce obesity since students would be aware of what they are putting in their mouths.

To teach the parents of the children that packaged and take away junky type food is highly processed and refined and loaded with nutritionally void, man made sugar that has no value whatsoever anyway for anybody's health and vitality ...... not to mention the plethora of nasty chemicals they use to preserve flavor and color packaged and take away foods either ...... educate people from the base to start with so that their children have a fighting chance.

fresh food from nature's table will always be the healthiest way to go.

Education about metabolism. Do you know what metabolism is and how it works. Research how important water is in a diet. You could go with the angle about how more obese kids are today due to parents being busy and more single parents. Kids have to keep themselves occupied and don't exercise as much. Lots of this info on the internet. Also have schools offer only good lunches, lots of bread and deep fried french fries are not healthy.

Chemicals in food, preservatives, being educated about them and how they can prevent your body from functioning properly and therefore preventing weight loss or a healthy lifestyle. :)

Getting kids off the computer and away from staring at video game screens and getting them more physically active.

Yeah I might go with something having to do with the laziness of Americans and our reliance on fast food.

Eliminate Fast Food Joints
