What is the study of oral health and what field in biology does it fall under? |
I have to do a biology presentation on gum and I was talking about the substance xylitol and i was talking about gum called stay alert used in the army..and just a whole bunch of other stuff that falls under how gum improves your health and breain activity....now i cant figure out what feilds of science they fall under...help? It falls under oral biology. Periodontology!? OK, you want to know the correlation between, Chewing Gum and "breain" (your spelling not mine) activity. While there is a level of biological reaction between almost every substance we ingest, not all affect the "brain" (my spelling)..to ascertain the inner action of those substances that do, you need to get involved with the Neurological correlation. While different gum formulas contain different agents, it would follow that some may only have a biological response relating to digestion. On the other hand some may contain chemicals that do in fact cause a brain/neuron reaction. If I were you I would contact manufacturers of gum products, tell them your presentation requirement, as it relates to their product, and I'll bet they provide you with some valuable information.
