Are there no health issues surrounding menstruation and oral sex?

My girlfriend offered to perform oral to try and relieve cramps (i suffer really bad) Personally i think she's in heat and because i hate having sex while on, it's her excuse to get me in the sack. I'm not falling for it though and above everything else are there no health risks surrounding menstruation and oral? We're both completely STD free

it is true that orgasm may help to relieve menstrual cramps, for some people. if you want to give it a try, wash up very good (with mild soap), insert a proper tampon minutes before the experiment.

please note, that menstrual blood may carry bacteria (other than STD causing ones).on the other hand, her mouth may also carry bacteria, that may cause infections if they enter into your bloodstream.

i recommend your partner to brush her teeth and use mouthwash before she goes down on you.

after the experiment, you should both wash up again with mild soap and mouthwash.

For two healthy people, it poses no health risks. Sex during menstruation does in fact lessen the cramps by stimulating the vagina and may even make your period of a shorter duration. Personally, I don't know if I could go down on another woman during "that time", but that choice is between you and your partner. I would suggest putting down a towel first, then maybe stimulation with a sex toy.

As for the question itself, all the literature broadly-speaking says the same thing - it's safe, but since menstrual blood can carry bacteria and viruses you should use a dental dam. If you're both infection-free, she need not do so (unless she prefer to) so unless you're really just not in the mood, why not give yourself a treat when you're feeling at your worst? You may as well get something nice during the five days of hell!

Humm, my sister and I are two different majors. She's in the medical field, I'm in Physics, so I know nothing about the human body unless it comes to weight training, but I do remember her saying something about a risk for infection, performing sexual activities while one's on their period.
