What about a pain management doc to deal with my addiction? |
What about a pain management doc to deal with my addiction? Addiction to what? Hmmm, that's a good question. I know that these doctors are usually pretty strick about what pain medications they prescribe. I was taking MSContin when I went to a pain mgmt. doctor and one of the first things he did was wean me off of it by prescribing lower and lower doses until I was completely off of it. But I never got a euphoric or "high" feeling from it as it was time released and I took it as prescribed. He just did the tapering off as a precaution so that I wouldn't have problems. Pain management doctors do not deal with addiction issue. You'd need an addictionalogist for this. If you want to be weaned of narcotics you could find a doctor that works with suboxone or some other replacement therapy. |
