Pelvic pain when I walk? |
i'm 37 weeks pregnant and 3 days. At my Dr's appointment on Wed I was dilated to 2 centimeters and my cervix was kind of soft. I know this sounds gross (sorry) but you know how when the Dr checks to see how much you are dilated, the pain that it causes.. I guess that bone or whatever that is there.. well... mine is hurting. Every time I get up and walk or even change positions it's sore and hurts. Does this mean that I'm dilating more? Can you feel when you are dilating? Today my boyfriend and I went to the park and walked around for a good hour and a half, went to our baby shower then came home and had sex. Do you think all the activity is making me dilate? I'm just really curious because I've never felt this pain before through out my pregnancy until this morning. Does this mean that the baby is pushing down and ready to possibly come out soon? More labored activity and sex due cause you to go into labor. However, most women will know that its time. You will be in alot of pain and not be able to walk. But you could just have more pressure down there. Also the baby could just have dropped and has his head in ready position and that could cause more pain. If it does continue, go see your dr or call them and let them know what is going on. Thats a tough question...Im 29 weeks pregnant and have alot of pelvic pain for a month or better now...mainly when I over do it with walking or working around the house. The doctor did an Ultra sound and everything looked fine, so he wasnt sure why my Pelvic floor was so sore that I couldnt hardly get around or put my pants on. Semen does contain chemicals to edge dialation along so it is possible to be further dialating. However it may just be likely that the baby is in an uncomfortable position in your hips and is laying on your cervix, which will cause some mild to moderate pain. You may be in labor, take it easy for a couple of days or if you are ready to have it, stay active. your pelvis is widening to let the baby out I was 2cm dilated for 2 months with my first baby im 37 weeks 4 days now and am having the same pain and im not walking around or having sex :( I've had similar pain periodically throughout the last couple months of my pregnancy, especially when I am really active (lots of walking etc.). At my last appointment (Monday) I was not dilated at all though I am 60% effaced. My doc told me that part of the pain probably comes from the way the baby is sitting coupled with the "round ligaments" in the abdomen, which stretch and change as your uterus grows. the round ligaments are what hold the uterus in place in the abdomen. Oh I remember that pain :( and I sympathize with you. It's probably the pressure of the baby "dropping" into position that's causing the pain. That's what mine was (unless you're feeling it in your cervical area and only started feeling it after the doctor checked you, in which case it's probably from the exam). That's not an absolute indicator that your baby will come soon, but it's a sign that you're getting closer, at least. All the activity will probably help to bring the baby down (walking) and help you dilate more (pressure from the baby's head and sex). I don't think you can actually feel yourself dilating, but I'm not sure. I asked that while I was pregnant and everyone said "no," but who knows? Im 37 weeks pregnant and have been feeling that pelvic pain for the last 6 weeks and i am still not dialated. I spoke with my doctor when it first started happening. I was in so much pain i could barely walk and she told me that it was just the pressure of the baby dropping along with the ligaments softening and stretching. Your pelvic muscles have to open up in order to let the baby drop. But hopefully all that extra activity worked in your favor. I suggest warm (not hot) water bottle and a little rest. It worked for me. Dont wear yourself out. Good luck and congrats. |
