Anyone else in extreme pain with pelvic exams? |
At the beginning of my pregnancy, they were just a little uncomfortable, but yesterday the nurse had to practically hold me down. I mean, can't they use a lubricant or something, or at least a smaller tool? I had thought my waters had broken, that's why I went in. They were checking for fluid and stuff. uh yeah, they of course should have.. and they dont need to be checking you that early. im being checked for the first time since the initial exam... and im 39 weeks. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I only had one pelvic screening and I was 14 weeks then they told me if that one was normal which it was i wouldny hve to have anoher one until i guess they syart checking for dialtion I was scared to death because it was my first one everyone told me it would hurt so bad and I didn't even feel her down there I felt some pressure when she had to feel in there but it didn't hurt when I had the internal ultrasound that hurt me a lot made me want to cry and they should have used lube with your exam I don't know why they didn't...ge'ez she didn't use any of those tool on my papsmear she used a tiny plastic thing that opened and I really couldn't feel that didn't hurt by no means...I think you need a more gental doctor if they hurt you that bad... I wasn't going to say anything but unless you're high risk, no one should be doing a vaginal exam on you so much! Ouch poor you! Thought they didnt do pelvic exams anymore unless there is something wrong? My gf had to get her waters broken in labour & she said that was excruiciatingly painful but as for pelvic exam that shouldnt be that bad aye?? Maybe you were unlucky & got a rough nurse - not cool, sorry to hear that. Pregnant ladies should be looked after with extra care - NOT the other way around :-( I know how you feel. With my first baby i had many complications with her and had a exam every 2 weeks. They used their fingers, i know is gross but they do...i was always crying and trying to breathe each time but the angle they did it hurt every time. They told me to make fists under my bottom to raise my pelvis, but it seemed like it would never end. they do hurt a little bit. and they are meant to use some type of lube. they are not meant to be that pain full. with my first child who is now 4 months each exam they did they used lube. im 39 wks, and when they check me (to see how diolated) they use a lub. and when i had paps done she would let me know when she was getting ready to do her thing. let your doctor know she is being too rough. Yes.. it hurts me too but I think it is because I picture that big speculum going in me and stretching me as far as I can go. That thing looks so scary! |
