Why is my period late pregnancy or from my broken ankle?

My last period was beginning of August (4-8th) so I am 2 weeks or so late here which is really uncommon for me!
But August 13th I fell down my basement stairs and broke my ankle in two spots. I went to the hospital where they put me out and reset it then on the 15th I had surgery where they put plates and screws in. I was on demerol and gravel, morphine, tylenol 3's and percocettes while in the hospital and percocettes and tylenol 3's at home. They also gave me blood thinners in the hospital.

So I am wondering...Has anyone else had surgery and had a delayed period or is there a chance I could be pregnant ( I hope not!!!) We did have unprotected sex during my period (tmi sorry) and I never thought anything of it.

any help would be great thanks even if you just have broke your ankle and want to share your Store on how long it took to get better

WOW! I totally understand your problem. I was on BC pills during my car accident back in April. Of course, I wasn't taking them in the hospital. I had 9 surgeries to repair my crushed pelvis (pins, plates, screws, the whole 9 yards). God knows what all I was on. I do know that I was under a lot of anesthesia, morphine, percocets, demorol in the hospital. (in hospital 2 months). Since I've been out, I've had percocets, lortab, and neurontin. my cycle JUST came back on during the middle of august. (first since march)

[also had sex with fiance ever since then too (unprotected, withdrawal method), im a very horny person, maybe TMI].

point is, i understand what ur goin through, but against my best friend's pleading, i havent taken a PT either...recently had a one-day spotting than a regular cycle like all the ones before it and noticing a few of the common preg symtoms but I doubt it.

Well, It sounds like it could be late because it sounds like you have went through alot lately...perhaps stress, and plus all of the medications....So that might be all..
But then you say you had unprotected sex, which obviousily means theres a chance you could be pregnant...just take a pregnancy test or go to the doctors, they will be able to tell you whats going on.

Stress alone is enough to cause your period to be late! Although blood thinner should make your period worse I would think. You could also be pregnant but I hope not considering all the medications you have been on. You are apparently very fertile already having 4 children though so if I were you I would see my gyn.
