Is it possible to get a positive pregnancy test then get your period?

am i pregnant or not?

Not usually. It's pretty uncommon to get a positive pregnancy result cause the test is picking up on the HcG pregnancy hormone. If you got a positive result contact your dr. You could be having some early bleeding in a pregnancy or you may be having a miscarriage. The only other thing that would make a pregnancy test positive is by being on fertility drugs, recently having a baby, or having a miscarriage and the hormones haven't dropped low enough to not make a test positive. Please contact your dr. now as he/she may want you to come in for an ultrasound. Don't worry about contacting the dr. on the weekend as it may be the best time to get in touch with him cause during the week they are busy in the office or hospital with patients.

If I hadn't had a blood test I wouldn't have known I was having a miscarriage. My dr. wanted me to stay in bed for two weeks and also tested me till the HcG hormones went down to zero before we could try to get pregnant again. The blood test will be more positive then a urine test cause if there isn't enough HcG hormone to show up on a urine test then it will be seen earlier with a beta blood test. Sorry for your loss.

If you are Rh-negative blood type and your partner is Rh+ positive blood type, you may need to get a Rhogam shot to prevent you from miscarrying again within 72 hours of the miscarriage. I got the shot and I got it in my other pregnancies to prevent Rh incompatibility or prevent the baby from needing a blood transfusion. It's a simple thing to correct with the shot.

The blood test continued to detect the pregnancy hormone for an additional two weeks before I got a period and then tried again. Dr's advise waiting at least one month to prevent yourself from miscarrying again. Also some women can be pregnant with twins, lose one, and continue on with having one baby with the same pregnancy.

Yes it is possible that you are pregnant. I've known some woman to have their period even while pregnant. It takes at least 2 weeks for your body to determine a positive on a pee-pregnancy test. 1 week for a blood test. The best thing to do is to wait until your period is over and take another test.

If you had a positive pregnancy test, then had a period I'd say you had a miscarriage, or maybe it was a chemical pregnancy. Test again.

Its very possible and happens a lot. You likely aren't pregnant anymore. Lots of teens do get pregnant and miscarry soon enough that there period is just a bit late.

thats happened to my mom
