How to prepare for surgery? |
I'm going to go in for a full thyroidectomy as well as tumorectomy (not the proper term, but go with me on this) in about a week. What are somethings I can do to prepare for an easier, speedier recovery? Has anyone tried preop/postop hypnosis and found it useful? Anyone found changing their diet/taking supplements helped? What are some little things I can do to ease the way to a healthier me? One of the most important things to keep in mind is to eat a high protein diet before and after surgery. Protein is required for healing, so eat well and it should help your recovery. Hope this helps! get plenty of sleep and eat the right roods and maybe exercise if your doc. lets you, good luck! |
