I'm 15. And My boyfriend has schizophrenia.Help!!!!!!!!? |
Okay. I'm a 15 year old girl and my boyfriend who i love very much is schizophrenic.NO one besides me really cares for him and he always wants to give up on life.I want/NEED to help him. I know as you get older it gets worse untreated which he is. Can anyone help me figure out how to tell him he needs to get help, give me any ideas on how to start treatment for it, and what are the best treatment options? Also general price range would be appreciated but dont feel obligated. If Your wondering I'm the only one who knows which is why I have to take care of it.Thank you for all your help!! Okay. Honey, well if he was diagnose with schizophrenia then he would of got meds or will get meds for a long period of time. You might get the book, "Surviving Schizophrenia: A Manual for Families, Patients, and Providers" by E. Fuller Torrey, Fifth Edition. I know Barnes & Noble has it as a paperback book. It is very good reading and tells a lot about schizophrenia, and how to deal with the issues relating to it. my cousin went to a teen home for 3 years when she was dealing with tons of mental issues. they did group therapy, trial and error for meds, and kept her 100% isolated from family and friends. she is a LOT better now. they let her go home 4 years earlier than her expected release date. her daddy, my uncle wilbur said the teen home wasnt covered under insurance but it only cost him $3,000/month that she was there. depending on the severity of the case, u may be able to get a sponsorship. hey i don't no what that is but it sounds bad just by the way u wrote that umm..... if he knows that he has that big long word then just first start saying u no u have (blah blah blah) right? have you tried to cure it or fix it or whatever? if he has to go to the hospital then stay next to him at all times Why hasn't your boyfriend received previous treatment? Has your boyfriend parents gotten him treatment? A schizophrenia patient shouldn't just be taken care of by a fifteen year old. Tell an adult. He will need to see a psychiatrist and will need to be given medication. It is a serious illness and should not be taken lightly. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... you should provide him all the support u can and prob refer him to some medical treatment First off, was he actually diagnosed with schizophrenia? Often times, this can be confused with other such things. A lot of people confuse schizophrenia with Dissassociate identity disorder and Schizotypy ( A very mild case of schizophrenia. Not exactly Schizphrenia, but has many of the same characteristics.)Schizotypal which is characterized by very odd ways of thinking, social isolation. The only way i know of to help people in serious situations is to gather friends, make a circle and say prays while your friend is in the middle of the circle. my father was in great pain. broke his back at 43 and then had both legs removed later in life because of a lack of blood circulation. Me and my siblings gathered around his bed and we prayed while holding hands. from that moment forward he never complained again. the power of pray is a gift many use and many don't use. believe in a power higher than us and believe that power can be linked between you and the person you are praying for. May God Bless your friend in his hour of need. |
