Why are people so scared of people with schizophrenia? |
And yes, I am schizophrenic. Mostly due to ignorance of what schizophrenia actually is. If you're schizo, people automatically think you are violent, which is false. But people with schizophrenia are known to be violent, e.g. man pushing a woman under a train (somewhere), but he had a severe case and was repeatedly let out of the mental hospital, which is why the incident happened. Fear of the unknown...and the fact that schizophrenics always seem to be portrayed as killers and torturers in the media (movies, etc.). Because people are afraid of things they know nothing about. they are just jealous of how many friends the schizo's have. |
